If you have the time, I would recommend giving them on a daily basis - so that they do not spend it at one go. Definitely a great opportunity to educate your kid on the value of money.

Do have a conversation with them every now and then to understand their spending habits!

Hi there. Firstly congratulations on your child's milestone to primary school next year.

I've found that a daily allowance of $2 is more than enough. Especially so if you've pre-packed some snacks for them.

The other expenditure you might want to plan for though are the bus fares which can be quite expensive for primary school depending on your provider. This can cost about 200 to 300 or more a month.
