Please help! I’ve been paying for this plan for a year already and wondering if I should just stop now (and burn my money) or if I should continue.

Okay, my personal experience with AXA/HSBC LIFE pulsar and Tokio Marine Gotreasure ILP is that you don't even start on ILP. Over the 8 years, those ILPs are not doing better than my S&P 500, and the ILPs charge high expense ratio and poor FX rate and other miscellaneous fees. The only advantage of my ILPs is that I can make nomination to sell them all off in the event of my passing and pass the cash to my love ones without charges, aka no estate tax.
Since you are only one year into ILP, you can consider the pros and cons of ILP and see if you still want it. (Not financial advice, but if I could go back in time, I would NOT buy ILP)
I will like to emphasise that there is no such thing as guaranteed investment returns in most forms of investment and definitely no ILP can give you guranteed returns.
