If you want to do that, make sure you have a private limited corporation.

  1. Private Limited buys an art piece, set it as a depreciation asset for office/store decoration.
  2. offset revenue to reduce tax payment
  3. Asset will become worthless in a decade or so.
  4. Owner can bring home the art piece, with the asset fully written off from the business since depreciated so much
  5. Whether the art piece can be sold for a gain later is another matter. Art world is fickle-minded. Any art that you think can make money probably can't. Any art you think that can't make money.... shrugs

While I fully recommend young people to dabble in alternative investments because the payoffs are so potentially huge, do make sure you invest money you can afford to lose.
