Great Total Care P renamed as Total Care P Signature/ Total Care Select renamed as Total Care P Optimum (2024)

Great Eastern just updated the hospital rider premium for 2024 in their website. There will be an increase in premium for supremehealth p plus and the rider.

Great Total Care P will be renamed as Total Care P Signature and Total Care P Select renamed as Total Care P Optimum.

The advice given was to downgrade P to P select rider as the premium much more affordable, when visit panel provider (private) and restructured hospital, our out of pocket payment will be capped at $3,000.

Coming 2024, people who are now on Total Care P Select (P Optimum), if we visit panel provider (private), out of pocket payment will be capped at $6,500 and restructured hospital will be $3,000. One of the changes is for P Optimum, it will not be subjected to claim adjusted premium for next renewal.

For those Total Care P (P Signature), panel provider (private) and restructured hospital will be capped at $3,000, no changes, but it will be subject to claim adjusted premium for next renewal.

Cancer coverage will be reduced from 18x MSHL to 15x MSHL, while drug cancer services from as charged to 15x MSHL, and non-CDL treatment from $250,000 to $200,000.

With these changes, should we still continue with Total Care P Select (P Optimum) or should look at downgrading to A plan. Anyone can share their views. Thank you.

I am holding on to total care P select for now and plans to downgrade to A plan when I hit 40. I personally find that the premium and rider is too expensive to maintain in the long run. I purchase GE total care essential for overseas treatment(not really sure how the claim works though) but I am open to travel to JB private hospital for treatment in future depending on my medical conditions.

Personally i will go for private if i can still afford the co-payment and premiums. reason being is the long wait queue at public hospitals.
