Life-style driven AND financial calculations. It is totally related. If I had a kid, other than time and energy, I'd need more money, which then eats into my time and energy because I'd have to delay retirement for many years to earn enough.

Not DINK but I can understand why some couples choose that path. The financial calculation is very real. But I don’t think it’s fair to say DINK couples are only thinking about money. Some genuinely prefer a quieter, freer lifestyle, while others may have weighed both and decided kids are not for them. Different life choices lah.
