Following SIA's recent retrenchment announcement, do you think Temasek will come in to save the airline? Or are you feeling pessimistic?

I think it’s precisely because they are retrenching people that there is a much higher chance that they will survive in the long run. After all, their biggest overhead costs would be salaries so now that they have some of this burden off they can focus on looking to other solutions to survive or even thrive. From what I’m reading in the news, they are adapting well and I am confident they will still be around for a long time!

Retrenchment is only hurting ordinary workers, nothing to do with the pockets and lavish lifestyles of the board and C-suite. don't think Temasek will step in until the day when its own kind are in danger.
