Financial freedom

Hi everyone,

I’m 39 years old, and I’ve reached a point in life where I no longer need to actively work for income.

What does that mean, exactly?

The term “financial freedom” gets thrown around a lot, but in simple terms:
I own a few properties here in Singapore that bring in over SGD $22,000 per month in positive cash flow.
I also have an investment portfolio (mostly shares/ETFs) that allows me to draw around SGD $7,000 per month, without touching the core capital — depending on the market and my needs.
On top of that, I own a business from which I take a modest salary. My involvement in the business is now minimal — anywhere from zero to four hours a day.

I’m not some kind of guru. I’m not here to sell you a course or pitch you a lifestyle.
I’m not after likes or applause, and I’m not sharing my real name here — posting anonymously feels natural.

For example, I don’t want to get into awkward conversations with colleagues over a post we disagree on.
I’m also not keen on being Googled and receiving personal attacks about my education, job, or anything else.
I don’t want rude DMs just because someone doesn’t like what I said.
If I can’t participate in a conversation anonymously, I’d rather not take part at all.

Everything I’ve achieved came from years of hard work.
I grew up in a household where money was tight and options were limited.
There was no silver spoon or safety net. I worked crazy hours, made sacrifices, and only recently have I been able to slow down and breathe.

But I hit the goals I set for myself.

There are no shortcuts.
The hardest path — if taken with discipline and purpose — is usually the right one.

The only reason I’m sharing this is because I know there are people in this group who are driven, who have clear goals, and who might be looking for some guidance or perspective.
I’m offering to share what I can — completely voluntarily, no strings attached, no hidden motives.

I had a few good people who helped me along the way — and I’d love to pass that energy forward.

I’ve been following this group for a while now. I’ve noticed that whenever someone shares a win, especially younger people, there's often that knee-jerk reaction:
“Probably inherited it.”
“Must be a scam.”
“Sounds made up.”

Friends — everything is possible.
All the rest is just noise.

Yes, it comes at a cost.
But it is possible.
I’ve walked this road.
My way might not be for everyone, and that’s completely okay — we all have our own path, values, and priorities.

Still, if you’re someone who’s trying to figure things out, or just needs an outside perspective, feel free to drop a comment here.
I’ll do my best to reply when I can.

I’ve got a lot more time on my hands these days — and I’d love to use some of it doing something good.
