My wife and I moved out from our parents house recently into a relatively new estate. We've stayed for a week and we don't really have a sense of belonging, we concluded that because we have too much memories at our parents house, especially the estate, the nostalgia and the vibes. We were from 2 different old estates and it seems like these old estates are more lively, less flustered and we miss it. Has anyone experienced this before?

I totally get how you feel—it’s such a big transition. When I moved out, I felt a similar mix of nostalgia and displacement. It’s tough leaving behind the memories and comfort of your old estate, especially when the new place doesn’t feel like “home” yet. I came across this article that might help—it talks about what to expect when moving out and how to adjust. It reassured me that it’s normal to feel this way, and with time, you’ll start building new memories in your new space. Hang in there! 😊
