Personally, I am thinking of gaining more exposure and experiences with the thought of working in another country (as I have never stayed out of SG before) - which may also help to boost my resume. However, I don't really know how it works as none of my friends have done it and there are many other factors to consider i.e. rental, job application (don't even know if its possible to get one) etc. Feels like its more common to see company sending their employees overseas to work instead.

certain certain companies may be looking for regional expertise, they may be recruting here, but need u to be based overseas, in dis case, u will likely hav relocation package, eg temp housing, allowance.

For Japan, there are some agencies which are helping to hire some talents : programmers, etc.
Even in Singapore, you can work for their Singapore branch (depending on the company, sometimes there might be full Japanese or maybe even only 10%-20% only).
Things you take note:
1. Language Proficiency
2. Skills Required
3. Working Visa
4. Living Style (Daily Living Cost, Taxes, Culture, Society).
5. Geographic Situation ( for examples : Japan has tons of earthquake, tsunami, typhoon, Flood).
I am Indonesian, reside in SG as resident, and a Japanese learner (proficiency up to daily life conversation and understand news).
Used to think to move again to Japan but decided to cancel it after tons of considerations π (tax :25%, working culture, natural disasters etc).
But personally, I would recommend you should try going overseas whenever you can. You will able to appreciate both sides of both countries and you will be more mature π.
