Yes Gabriel! Good question. Choosing the right donee is extremely important. When choosing a donee, think about:

how well they manage their own affairs, for example their finances
how well they know your healthcare and financial wishes
whether you trust them to make decisions in your best interests
whether they can handle the responsibility to make decisions for you

You must appoint someone who has the mental capacity to make their own decisions too!

For LPA, who to designate? if no family. and friends are same age, so in old age, they might not be able to do caregiving too. Can trust professional donee? will they know us personally well enough?

How much does a professional or public donee cost? what are the fees? if u ran out of savings during the caregiving stage, will the donee just abandon u?

Do u need to pay professional donees a fee? what if during caregiving, your personal savings are finished? will donee pay for everything if I want high standard of care?

I am always in the state where i feel like i don't have enough $$. Even after getting paid and allocating my $ to expenses, investments, i find myself feeling it is not enough.

Who can we trust? Even a long time friend since primary school is not spared :(
