Does proximity grant apply if I buy a resale near my dad’s public rental flat (house is rented from HDB)?

My dad would like the option to remain in the rental flat. Will HDB repossess his public rental flat and make it compulsory for my Dad to stay with me in my own home when I get one? I will get it either under the single citizen scheme or public scheme with my partner.

For clarity’s sake, I’ll definitely have a room for him in my own home. Dad wants the option to keep on renting the rental flat so that he has a place of his own so to speak.
