Does NTUC Income PA Assurance offer the same premium rates for all occupations or it varies?

I work in a factory where it is definitely more dangerous as compared to a corporate worker so I would assume my premium would be more expensive..

Hi Anon,

All Personal Accident (PA) Insurances' premiums are based on occupation class and are on a yearly renewal basis, so meaning based on your current job now, it might be higher, but in the event you change you job/ role to a more office-centric one, then the premiums will decrease.

Personal Accident Insurance is a good to have and also is the most affordable form of insurance that provides us with medical reimbursement in the event we visit a doctor due to an accident

The premium rate will vary according to your occupation class. Generally, it can be divided into two groups, Group A, and Group B.

Group A:

Professions or occupations of professional, administrative, managerial or clerical nature or occupations of outdoor nature or involving light manual work without the use of tools or machinery.

Examples: Admin executive, auditor, lawyers, salespersons, managers, homemakers, domestic helpers, students, doctors, teachers, insurance agents, waiters, retailers etc.

Group B:

Professions or occupations involving manual work with the use of tools or machinery or uniform professions involving security or defence work or whose work environment is in high altitude or of hazardous nature.

Examples: Hawkers, cooks, drivers, painters, fitness/gym trainers, despatch, construction workers, commercial airline crews, national servicemen, policemen, prison wardens, steermen, security guards, carpenters, technicians, mechanics, veterinary surgeons, paramedics, life guards etc.

Depending on what type of work that you do at the factory, the premium may be more expensive, e.g. for manual work.

The best way to know this is to speak with a qualified consultant who will be able to give you responsible advice based on your job demands. Above all, you will wish to get coverage while you are at work.
