Does it make more sense to funnel funds into Syfe Equity100 or distribute between Syfe Equity100 and S&P500?

Yep, Syfe Equity100 is currently heavily tilted to the US markets. So if you want S&P500 exposure, you should just choose one or the other, not both (not that it's wrong, it just serves no purpose).

But if you follow global markets, you might notice a trend that no economy has dominated for more than two decades or so. Look at Japan's economy in the '60s and '70s. Dominant. World-class superpower. US? Nowhere to be seen. But where has Japan been for the last 10-20 years? Conversely, US has dominated in that time. You get the idea.

Am I saying that the US economy's "time is up"? I am not. That would be speculating. Past performance is no indicator of future performance. But it does give us a clue of what's likely going to happen. You can stake all your money on US and China markets which are doing well. But can you predict when another market will rise up and overtake their performance? It's hard. Maybe impossible.

That's why people recommend diversification. The global market has achieved positive annual returns over the last few decades. If you invest into the entire market, you're more likely to capture positive returns. Overperformance by one market will eclipse underperformance by another. Net outcome is: you're still profitable.

Hi linseed, i would say just focus on equity100. if you look into the etfs they hold, there is an etf called CSPX which tracks the S&P500. so just focus on equity100 will do. personally prefer to have lesser portfolios, can grow and compound better over time
