It doesn't make any sense that there is a hidden charge incurred when using a credit card to pay for my public transportation. Anyone experiencing similar issues?
No there should not be extra charge unless charged by the bank? If you have registered your card for SimplyGo, do check your travel history to verify the fares.
Do note that TransitLink will batch the transactions and charge the total amount to your card. It is not an immediate charge per trip.
Also if you do not tap out with the same card whenever you exit, the full fare is charged. If you use mobile wallet to tap on, you have to tap off using the same method. Otherwise the system will recognize as incomplete trip and charge full fare.
Also the transfer timing window is 45mins. After 45mins the transfer rebate does not apply.
And if everything checks out but there is an error, you can submit the claim via the app for investigation.
