Does anyone know if the principal sum deposited into Singlife's account is guaranteed?

The Singlife account is a capital-guaranteed insurance savings plan. Should the company cease to operate, your deposits are insured by SDIC under Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme capped at $100,000

Yes Singlife is guaranteed by SDIC's PPF Scheme. The amount insured (amount deposited) has a guaranteed surrender value at the point of failure that is capped at $100,000.
