Does anyone else feel that tattoos are very expensive in SG as compared to other countries?

My friend just got a half sleeve tattoo in SG which cost him $1500! He said that another shop wanted to charge him $4k for the same tattoo. Anyone here got a tattoo in SG and what was the cost like? Or should I consider getting overseas when we can finally visit other countries?

Tattoos are definitely more expensive in Singapore - but we're not talking SGD.

Some price can't be paid in currency. IYKYK
