Do you think the STI is a good long term investment option as there seems to be little growth compared to the US markets (but seems to be overvalued now)?

What would be the better option? What would be the pros and cons of each investment?

Nope it's a terrible option.

Meaningful global diversification is most important. To be ultra safe we should just invest in all geographies not just US.

I shared the research done by a index provider, on Japan from the 1980s till now. It's barely above zero. so be wary about single company exposure!!

There is a huge potential in the US market, largely because of the technology sector whereby most of them are growth stocks (the big cap companies especially). And with a long term view on how the technology sector will evolve, we can probably expect exponential growth.

Even then, you can still include STI as part of your portfolio but couple it with a global index as well.
