Introversion and extroversion are not fixed traits. People like to look at it in binary extremes (either super quiet or very very outgoing) while in fact, most simply lies somewhere in the middle. Depending on the context and situation, we can switch up between the two.
Generally, I would say extroverts tend to be the loudest and receives the most attention but doesn't equate to being the most well-liked :P.

Chun Kiat brought up a common misconception about introvert, which I fully agree.
Introverts are not necessarily socially awkward.
Extroverts may not necessarily thrive in a work place environment, if they do not know how to leverage their strengths in the right manner.
This is what it boils down to: if you know how to leverage your strengths, whether as an introvert, extrovert or ambivert (that's me), you can thrive in any environment, at home or at work.
Strengths of an introvert:
Perceptiveness, patience and hence being a good listener, greater sense of introspection.
These are extremely helpful in building rapport and winning trust, as Chun Kiat may attest to.
Strengths of extrovert:
Bringing energy and liveliness to any team. Creativity, spark. Ability to break the ice quickly with strangers.
Leverage on your strengths, and work on your weaknesses. There's no need to compare and wish you were something that you are not.

It might seem that loud extroverts find success easier than introverts. But true, authentic success isn’t about being the "loudest" in the room; it’s about being “loud about results”.
Both extroverts and introverts need practice in this; it doesn't always come naturally. Even the most natural extrovert may not be the most skilled in upward management and presenting themselves appropriately, which helps in thriving in a workplace environment.
One way to start approaching this is to have a practiced response when people ask you what you do.. it should briefly describe what you do at the highest level, in straightforward terms.
Most importantly, there's a need to be strategic about being “loud”. If the setting is relevant, then sharing your results and opinions would be much easier for you; and for your audience to internalise.
Those who are better in writing than speaking can look for alternative ways of expression, through WhatsApp or online channels.
