Hello!
I've recently just interned at a start up, and I must say that I was surprised at how much I liked in - in terms of their culture, team spirit and career opportunities. I've learnt just how important culture is to me now and it is certainly going to be one of the key quality I look for in my future job.
In terms of a work life balance, I personally think start ups would require longer working hours, but it is a lot more fulfiling as you strive to do the best for the firm and working alongside with your colleauges. If culture places a key importance to you, I think salary and a work life balance can be looked past, of course, depending on your own life commitments too!

Depends on your temperament. For me, am workaholic at its finest and I enjoy seeing my own impact to the company and its clients. So startup, small companies or own business is where I'll be most motivated. Though a lot of people I know do crave for that security that comes from MNCs or government jobs.
In terms of work life balance, if I ever do end up in an MNC, I'll probably spend my nights working on something on the side so I can leave that place LOL. Again, entirely up to your priorities and direction of your life.
