I think it boils down to each individual tbh, it might be "worth it" to some but not so for others. Some might criticise you for your choice when admittedly there's plenty of free workout videos available on youtube, however if there's a particular type of workout class that you enjoy that you can't get access to by yourself, I think it is justifiable to pay for it but just make sure you're spending within your means.

For myself, spin classes are the most effective & enjoyable however I do admit that the packages are not the cheapest. I'm still in uni so how i try to "balance" my spendings is to only go for spin classes during the holidays and I'll halt my Classpass membership during the semester and settle for home workouts/gym/runs instead, that way I'm not spending on the classes all year round.

Likewise, I also really enjoy F45 workouts but I do admit that they are really expensive. However with the nature of F45 workouts its something that you can easily replicate so what I did during my trial classes was to keep a log of the circuits and I just replicated the workout/style at home or at the gym.

I pay about $190 for Fitness First and I'd say it's worth it especially since there is a variety of group workouts you can try out. Working out at home doesn't give me as much motivation to ramp up the intensity like group workouts in gym does... So I'd choose gym subscription anyday haha

SItting around all day since work started has definitely taken a toll on my health so I would say it's worth investing in your health! :D

After paying for 2 months of circuit training classes, I really dislike that idea and decided not to pay for that again.

I started with HIIT videos on YouTube (since they are so short - less than 10 min - yet effective together with eating a little more healthily). Now I just need free music on YouTube and a HIIT/interval timer and I can do it anywhere (at home or office).

That's quite a sum of money that you can use for other purposes (e.g. investments, travel - when it resumes, or other meaningful experiences)! It really boils down to having a goal to sticking to it.

I did pay for something though - a fat analyzer with scale. This small one-time expense did well for me.

I pay for the basic level of Classpass $19 a month for 8 credits, which amounts to 1 class or sometimes 2 if there are discounts. I think it's easy to be motivated if you truly enjoy the workout, so try finding a class that you actually like. Personally, after trying many different ones, I found my fav to be boxing HIIT (Box Office, Still, Boom).

There is also $59 for 25 credits which will equal to 3-6 classes. For this price, I think it's pretty manageable and worth it for good health, both physically and mentally.
