Do we need a water purifier unit at home ? If yes, any good recommendation?

Other than knowing what water purifier to get, you will also need to figure out the necessary maintenance or replacement needed. Otherwise, in the long term, it won't be certain if your water is purified to the same standard as when you first install the purifier.

Personally I don't think we need a water purifier unit in Singapore. According to PUB:

Singapore’s tap water quality is well within the Singapore Environmental Public Health (Water Suitable for Drinking) (No.2) Regulations 2019 and World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality. Our tap water is suitable for drinking directly from the tap without any further filtration.

That being said, I do have a water purifer at home HAHA... Because my parents insist on it, but putting it through additional filtration is never a bad thing I guess.

We have been using the Philips - On Tap Water Purifier WP3861 for over half a year and it's been serving us well!

In general, I think the three most important things to me would be

1. Good Online Reviews - To be assured that the product has been tested and well reviewed by other consumers as well. This model has a 4.2/5 star reviews on the website.

2. Product Warranty - Some lower quality water filters do rust over time which is definitely not something we want to be drinking. This model comes with a 2 year warranty.

3. Easy Installation and Usage - Definitely important, since we turn on the tap so many times a day we don't want something overly complicated.
