Hi anon,
The 'best' company and the corresponding product to cover a particular risk typically changes over the years.
It all depends on your needs at that point of time.
So maybe 2 years ago, most people were taking up company A's whole life plans for CI coverage, and maybe company B's shield plan, and company C's term plans.
Today, it will probably look very different.
No insurer has an absolute monopoly over all sectors of risk and thus have all the 'best' products.
Thus, buy because you needed the coverage, and not because of any other reason.
