You can think about insurance companies as your hawker centers. Some hawker centers are well-known for their Hokkien mee while others are more reputed for their fishball noodles.

Depending on your taste, you have some preference for some dishes over the others. There is no one size fit all approach and your planner and advisor should assist you to distill your taste to match the best products that suit your needs.

Imagine if you like Hokkien Mee from Paris Ris hawker center and fried carrot cake from Redhill hawker center. If you want to eat both, then traveling can cause some inconvenience. The same analogy applies to your insurance companies as well.

Hi anon,

The 'best' company and the corresponding product to cover a particular risk typically changes over the years.

It all depends on your needs at that point of time.

So maybe 2 years ago, most people were taking up company A's whole life plans for CI coverage, and maybe company B's shield plan, and company C's term plans.

Today, it will probably look very different.

No insurer has an absolute monopoly over all sectors of risk and thus have all the 'best' products.

Thus, buy because you needed the coverage, and not because of any other reason.
