Do I still need CI if I have ECI?

ECI do cover both early + late stage, so is it still necessary to get CI?

There are some ECI riders/plans which cover early stages of selected cancers and also include selected intermediate or late stage CIs. However there are some standalone riders eg under Mindef/MHA Group Insurance, Living Care Plus rider is specifically for early stage CIs. You need to get the other rider called Living Care if you wish cover for late CI. Another point to note is different plans may differ in the type of conditions and number of conditions covered, so if you're concerned about specific medical conditions, do ensure you check out the full product coverage and get the right plan for yourself.

If you already have ECI coverage, then you would typically, by extension, have Late CI coverage as well. (Do read the product specs just to be sure)

Personally, I have both, not that I ever want to make a claim.

While it may β€˜cover’ both early and late stages, the devils in the details. How much coverage betwee...
