Depends! A course in skills relevant to your line of work from a reputable source/institution should certainly help your resume. Courses on skills less relevant may not value-add much to your resume in a material sense, however don't let that stop you from seeking new experiences and learning opportunities. There's value to showing your willingness to learn :)

Online certifications on resumes open doors.
Doing well in the technical assessments gets you through those doors.
Articulating well on what you've learnt keeps you inside the room.
