In online platform such as shopee/qoo10/lazada, usually item can be from official SG distributor or grey import from other country.
Usually grey import item might have warranty issue, however, they are mitigated in following ways:
A) seller warranty if item is defect upon receive.
B) some gadget has international warranty where no matter which country you buy frm, can go to their service center to repair (i think apple, asus might support this).
Difference:
A) official website: tends to be slightly more exp (but now a day apple has their official store in shopee...)
B) online platform (local official distributor): can be cheaper, easier to deal with warranty.
C) online platform (grey/parallel import): usually cheapest but need to read about warranty.
