However from a quick search I gather that it seems to be some kind of endowment plan with a 2 year payment period and a 10 year total policy term.

If you have such a policy yourself, perhaps providing the product summary and policy illustrations would help the community explain how it works.

Do you have the original policy benefits illustrations? it may be an savings/endowment plan of 10 or 15 years. you should have finish paying and is waiting to collect the payout at the end of the policy. however with the bonus cuts announced across most insurers, your returns likely less than 3%.
