Data Check

Usually the cycle starts when you activate the card. The statement date is the last day of the cycle. The payment due date is 21 days or so later.

You can call DBS to change the billing cycle. Depending on which cycle or dates they have for billing, they can adjust the billing cycle. So if you want to pay your credit bills(payment due date) at the end of the month, your statement date should be at the beginning of the month.

Works for most/all credit card providers. Some banks have fixed billing dates so there can be some gap.

Do note that if you already started spending on your card, it may take one or two cycles to change and usually the card provider will “request” that you pay up the outstanding amount in full first. So please prepare enough money first.

Do always look out for late payment fees too as the bank adjusts the billing cycle and you may assume that the remaining amount due is the next cycle but it is not. Call and tell the bank to waive the fee if it is not accepted via the automated system.

I have been doing this for a couple of years. Sharing some of my experiences.
