Could you share your views on the shifts in global economy (if any) and how do you think Singapore should position itself going forward post pandemic.

With the recent US policies appearing to be more anti-chinese, Chinese economies will continue to be strong. At the same time, US is hoping that the effects on those policies they have implemented will bring about more positive changes to the US economy.

Singapore will continue its foreign diplomacy strategy by making friends with everyone and seeking out the best deals for whichever countries they work with in the future. Based on what's been going on in the news, seems like electric vehicles/carbon neutrality/zero emissions are one domain to "future-proof" themselves. The other domain is on data, specifically 5G, data-analytics and how we can protect our economy given the lessons learnt from COVID-19. So there wouldn't really be a post-pandemic per se, but rather what it means to live with COVID-19 given the global situation.
