Considering that I'm a beginner in investing, should I invest in STI ETF?

Personally I’m not very interested in investing in the Singapore market. But I always come across advice saying to invest in STI ETF. I’m also a beginner investor. What should I do?

The worst to invest in an index ETF is STI ETF...

"What should I do?" - Start researching your butt off :) Only knowledge & skills that you spent time and effort to acquire are truly yours, advice from others can only serve as a reference

The SPDR STI ETF is the cheaper one with 0.30 % expense ratio, the annualized return (calculated with all dividends reinvested !) over 10 years is ca. 4%.

The STI represents only a tiny portion of the world stock market and is financial intitutions heavy. Maybe You would like to look for a large MSCI World ETF or SP500 ETFs (to me VOO or IVV seem the best). Start early, invest regularly, buy&hold for longterm. (5-10% gold for ultra longterm seems also a good idea).

Different folks differnt strokes.
