CDP and Brokerage Account
Sorry if this sound foolish but recently I opened a trading account with CIMB under the impression that the brokerage account would be opened together with a CDP account. Today my trading account just got approved and when I logged in, I am confused regarding the status of my CDP account as:
- I cannot find my CDP account number; and
- The details in my "Account" tab listed my CDP account as "-".
Do I need to apply separately for a CDP account? Thanks in advance.

Called up CIMB customer service. They told me that they will not open CDP account for me unless it is specifically requested. Weird but okay...

Question: Is your CIMB trading account a custodian (cash-management) or CDP-linked one?

If it's custodian then you wouldn't require a CDP account to trade.
