I am currently taking a SGUS course that teaches backend software development, but I feel that this might not be enough experience for prospective employers to consider me for junior software developer roles. What else can I do to improve my chances at getting my first job as a software developer?

SGUnited definitely gives the opportuity to learn new skills like Software development , Coding and you could supplement some of the learning through learning and certification through sites like Coursera, eDX, Udacity, Udemy. Pluralisght etc. Remember the most in demand are SW coding jobs on Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, C, C++, PHP, Swift, Go, Ruby. Also cloud native Software development using platfrom like Redhat Openshift, VMware Tanazu etc gives you opportunity to learn backend skills as a software developer.

I think you can consider joining other courses to become more skilled, and after that, you can start looking for frontend developer jobs with relocation because some companies can provide you with relocation assistance, and there are many such offers on the internet. So I think it won't be a problem to find a job in that field.
