Only buy things when necessary.

  • Planning and shopping:Make a meal plan for the week and create a grocery list based on what you need.
Avoid impulse purchases and stick to your list.
Consider buying smaller quantities or using store loyalty programs to avoid buying more than you need.
Don't be afraid of "ugly" fruits and vegetables – they are often just as nutritious and taste just as good!

  • Storage and preservation:Learn proper storage techniques for different types of food to extend their shelf life.
Freeze food that you won't eat before it goes bad.
Consider preserving food through methods like canning, pickling, or drying.

Smaller portion, bring your own container etc

I bring my own container, no wastage on disposables too. Order a slight lesser if I dun feel extremely hungry (fullness will come 10 mins after finishing meal). Dun mind eating few days old leftover food in the fridge. just microwave (sustainable), Can be mix-match of a various diff portions of dishes, it's just 1 meal. Check expiry dates periodically. Bring to office offer to foreign workers that don't mind the type of food nor the short expiry (2-3 nths) if I dun think I can finish in time, they usually gladly take them. Supermarket trips will buy just enough for 2-3 cookings. 'Ugly food' so long as not rotting, is consumable. Never buy because it is on sale. Buy things that I need, horsay if it is on sale. 'Best Before' is not expired. Dry food is ok to consume if not 'expired' too long.

Using olio app. And participate in sharing or receiving of food items that others got fm shops...
