Can i use two separate insurances to cover hospitalisation costs?

I have two separate policies, one with AON and the other with AIA that cover hospitalisation. The amount due exceeds the cover of one of them. So if i use AON as the primary one, can i use AIA to claim the balance?

Hi there,

In General, one can only have one Shield plan. So I'll assume the AON plan is the one that is offered by your company. You might want to claim from your own first because the coverage offered by companies may not be extensive enough.

I believe your AIA one is a shield plan. If that's the case, you will claim the AIA one first, since that's done as part of the admission process. Whatever the AIA plan can't pay, probably due to deductible, co-insurance or co-payment, then you claim that through AON. It does not make sense to claim your AON one first, since only the hospital is able to claim the shield plan, so it should be claimed upon admission.

Not sure what your aon policy coveres. but what i would do is to claim hospitalisation plan first. t...
