I know the government covers COVID costs currently, but can I ask for compensation from my company?

If your Covid is due to work-related causes, then your company must continue to pay your salary while you're on medical leave. They must also pay for your medical expenses, but that's currently being covered by the government. These payments are legally required under the Work Injury Compensation Act, which is the law that oversees compensation for injured/sick employees.
If your company doesn't pay your salary while you're on MC for work-related Covid, contact MOM to file a complaint.
If your company has a Wica insurance policy (aka workmen's compensation insurance), the insurer will pay your company for your salary while on MC. So your company shouldn't have any reason (e.g. cash flow) to delay or deny your salary while you're recovering from Covid.

Hi,
By right work coverage should be able to cover covid and provide compensation when you're on MC. However, it depends on the T&C in your work insurance. Do check with your HR and request for the T&C contract.
