Buying condo

We're a LGBTQ+ couple and reaching our 30s. Looking to purchase a new launch or resale condo with joint gross income of $8k and joint savings of almost $200k. We intend to sell it and buy a HDB after we turn 35. How much budget are we supposed to look at? Any advice? What should we take note?

Is this a place that you intend to stay in, together? If yes, you should most likely be looking at a resale unit

Does either one of you currently earn more and can afford it on your own? If yes, you may want to consider buying under one name first

If purchasing jointly, do consider ahead how/who will decide at what price to sell, when to sell, etc.. whether or not you are still together (it can be messy). Assuming that you will be (☺), do also know that for LGBTQ couples, you don't have the same legal rights as heterosexual married couples if anything should happen to either one of you.. so consider having some provision for that
