Mine wasn't really to save money, but it was to make money. Recently Tiger Brokers has a promotion for refererrs. They would give a $60 SGD stock voucher to individuals who referred their friends to open an account with Tiger. So after knowing that, I convinced around 11 of my friends to sign up, paying them $10 each. That left me with a $50 net gain per person, and I made over $500 from that alone, in 2 days.

Recently, I was booking a cab home from a mall. The mall has 3 possible pickup points. Booking the cab from the entrance nearest to me was going to cost me $16.30. After checking the price for the other pickup points, I found that the furthest one (which wasn't really far anyway - a 1min walk away) would only cost $14.30.

That 1 minute of walking saved me $2 and I felt like a boss.
