Between KrisFlyer Miles and Asia Miles, which is faster to accumulate?

Which is easier to accumulate? Which rewards programs would be quicker to earn miles from? Which has more hacks that are exploitable? Or should I be looking at other airline rewards programmes too?

Assuming that you live in Singapore, KF miles are the easiest to accumulate because every single credit card can transfer to KF while not all of them can transfer to other FFP. Aside from KF, you can also look at AM which has many CC transfer options as well.

Krisflyer has more credit card partners and is easier to use with so many credit card choices. Asia Miles are limited to only a lesser number of selected credit card issurers.

You can also stick to Amex Krisflyer card that earns miles for Krisflyer a lot better. So its much faster than Asia Miles.

I personally don't have any preference between either FFPs. Most of my miles are accured from the bank side (i.e. on credit card spend). Between Star Alliance and Oneworld, both have different sweet spot and coverage areas when it comes to redeeming award tickets. The key is to have a stash of miles that are easily transferrable to either FFP when a good opportunity presents itself. So focus instead on maximizing spend so that you have as many miles as possible.

However, in Singapore, there will be more transfer partners to KF compared to AM. So that does make KF miles a little easier to accrue. Also, you have the Amex KF cards which are strictly KF only.

KrisFlyer will be easier to accumulate such as with the AMEX KrisFlyer cards which are decent options for miles accumulation.

Should you not wish to be locked down to one single miles programme, you can consider Citibank which has a whopping 12 frequent flyer program available for redemption (the most partners amongst all cards):

  1. Asia Miles

  2. British Airways Executive Club

  3. Etihad Guest

  4. EVA Air Infinity MileageLands

  5. Flying Blue (AirFrance and KLM)

  6. Garuda Indonesia Frequent Flyer

  7. Malaysia Airlines Enrich

  8. Qantas Frequent Flyer

  9. Qatar Airways Privilege Club

  10. Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

  11. Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

  12. Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus

All the best!

It depends which country are you based in - if SG, def KF is easier since it has a lot more options ...
