Better miles card and convert all Citi miles to krisflyer

I have about 78k miles accumulated with Citi premiermiles card and want to get another better (higher return) miles card. Since the new card is intended to be my go to everydaycard, does it make sense for me to apply new card, transfer all miles to krisflyer or starlux airline, stop using citimiles then cancel and pay off balance?
