I'm going on a family trip to China during the upcoming year-end holidays and I was figuring out which multicurrency app has the best:
without the use of credit cards (like the Instarem Amaze hack) as I don't have the capacity to have one right now.

I would also recommend DBS Multiplier. In this you convert SGD to Rmb and a Rmb wallet is created. You can then use a linked Debit card to use rmb in China. This Debit card would keep drawing from the Rmb Wallet til the funds are exhausted. DBS earns via the spread of the SGD-Rmb conversion.
Woud suggest not to use this Debit card for withdrawl from an ATM in China as there is a fee involved for that (7 SGD/ transaction).

You can link your youtrip card if you have one to Alipay or Wechat pay to make payments in China. topup the amount you want to use in youtrip, then use alipay/wechat pay to make payments by selecting youtrip as the card. you get to benefit from the FX rates without any charges from other credit cards. my 2 cents!
