Best Credit Cards for Fresh Grads With Low Spending (Cashback Preferred)?

I've taken a look at a few and it seems like promos aside, UOB Absolute Cashback seems to be the most rewarding at 1.7% cashback.

For reference, I do spend quite little every month so for cards that need like certain amounts spent to unlock higher tiers of cashback, I likely will not hit those. As such, for those, their base rate seems to be around 1.5%, the UOB Absolute Cashback is better.

Just wanted to reach out to the community to see if there are other better options.

Hi Anon,

Indeed, for your case, an unlimited cashback card with low cashback % will work best.

There is an option that's better than UOB Absolute, that is combining it with the Grabpay card. Since UOB Absolute awards cashback for Grabpay top ups, you can simply top up your Grabpay card with the UOB Absolute and spend with your Grabpay card directly. This will allow you to earn extra rewards in the form of Grab points, which translates to a total of up to 2.9% cashback (1.7% + 1.2%).

Alternatively, if you don't mind earning reward points that can be exchanged for cash vouchers (ie dining, groceries), you can consider HSBC Revolution or Citi Rewards. They award 10x points/$1 spent for expenses like online spending and more. HSBC Revolution also charges no annual fee and comes with a free mini subscription to Entertainer.

Hope this helps!
