Being a new team leader in a new job, and having a team member that is more proficient and good at taking charge.

I recently posted about being a team leader for the first time in my career and in a totally new job. One challenge I now face is that I have a team member that is more proficient than me, in terms of work abilities and better at taking charge than I am. While I'm grateful that he is good at driving the project that I am leading, which makes my job easier, but at the same time, I feel like I am being outshined by him, and he should be the lead instead of me. Any advice on what I should do?

Patience and tolerance are crucial for a new team leader in handling a situation where a team member is more proficient and better at taking charge. This involves allowing for an adjustment period, accepting different leadership styles, being open to feedback, embracing learning opportunities, and fostering a supportive culture. These qualities help create a positive team dynamic and enable everyone to contribute their best.
