When my peace of mind matters more than saving extra money

In short: At ~$2M liquid assets. Not necessarily spend more, but just stop the high intensive hustling, my labor probably wont make much different to the portfolio anymore.

At $1M: You reach critical mass. A 10% market return ($100k) outperforms the average annual salary, while a 5% dividend yield ($50k) matches a baseline starting income. It’s not the finish line—it’s the entry ticket that accelerates the path to subsequent millions.

At $2M (My target before age 50): You achieve true personal independence. This is far beyond what most people accumulate and generates more than enough passive cash flow to comfortably support an average lifestyle without eroding capital, allowing the portfolio to keep compounding.

$3M above: It turns into generational wealth. By living purely off the dividend yield, you never touch the underlying capital, allowing the core nest egg to compound indefinitely for the next generation.

(Note: The amounts mentioned above refer strictly to a pure equities portfolio value—excluding total net worth, CPF, or property valuations.)
