Some people like to be "sniper" very good & specialized in one things, and with 1 skill earn lot of $$$$.
Some people prefer to use a "shotgun". explore many things, acquired different skill. Jack of all trade. With many small income sources added up still earn lot of $$$$.
Both gun is equally deadly, just dont use a small pistol.

job hop every few years to higher position & $$$, till certain age?
if you have interest to further study then go, else dont force.
Do your best at job, but dont force it or try to impress.
climbing corporate ladder salary grow very slow. every job will have a salary cap, which is determined by the job market. Unless is commission based.
Meanwhile, just get some part time. You can be a small fry in an office but with addition income, added all up can be almost equivalent to a manager pay.
