Hi anon,
Careshield life is not under the classification of personal accident, but it does cover severe disability. It is a plan that covers long term care needs via a monthly cash payout to your loved ones so that there is funding available to defray the costs of your long term care (think along the lines of hiring a helper or paying for a nursing home bill)
How this differs from other types of disability payouts such as TPD is that the payout is not in a lump sum unlike say, TPD. Hence, it is a stream of payouts that will last for a lifetime as long as you are severely disabled in order to ensure that one will have access to a stream of income for long term care purposes. I consider it as supplementary to other forms of disability payout and hence would not reduce other coverage once I have careshield life in place.

Hi Anon, CareShield Life is neither a Personal Accident nor Life Insurance plan. It is a long-term care insurance scheme that provides basic financial support in the event of severe disablity.
It does make up part of your insurance and if there is no overlap, should not cause you to reduce your other existing insurance.
