I like that the mini account forces you to save up for that budgeting goals (e.g for overseas trip etc) and do not allow you to use it unless you authorise it to be released. helps to manage the budget goals well. any other account that offers such features? Do people who used it find it really useful?

I do use that feature in OCBC and find it very useful.
Have not seen any other banks offering such a feature yet though. Alternative method is open multiple savings accounts to split the goals but the minimum account balance for each is a bummer. And sort of dilutes the total account balance for any high interest rate account.
Maybe the others can chime in on more options.

But this "mini account" doesn't give you any interest right ? wouldn't it be better if you put it into high interest account? Like SingLife or GXS ?
