Anyone use hardware crypto wallets like Ledger? Any tips and tricks? What apps do you use on top of this to stake or earn yield on your Ledger?

Either one is fine, I highly recommend the Ledger Nano X as I'm using it myself. Main difference is that it has Bluetooth and iPhone connection, but the Ledger S Plus is perfectly fine too.

Somehow there is a misconception that cold/hardware wallets like Ledger Nano X / Nano S Plus are just there to store your crypto and can do nothing else. In fact, a Ledger can do everything that hot wallets can do (e.g. send crypto, stake, interact with defi platforms and smart contracts) but without the risk of your seed phrase or private key being hacked. Even if the app (Ledger Live) has limitations and doesn't support/show the specific crypto token, the Ledger device (i.e. the hardware) itself is limitless - you can still link the Ledger device with another app/extension like Metamask (WITHOUT giving away your seed phrase/private key) and view the token there and perform functions as required.
