I (25F) and my partner (27M) are looking to get married at the end of 2022 and am starting to look around for wedding locations, and making wedding plans and starting to realise how incredibly expensive everything is - from pre-wedding shoots to outfits, to location, to food, flowers and entertainment. Any tips and recommendations on the most cost-efficient and value for money vendors and ways to manage this would be much appreciated!
We are also thinking of engaging a wedding planner to help coordinate - can anyone share whether this is unnecessary?

Just Google “Reddit Wedding Hacks” and a ton will appear haha. I’ve seen a bunch pretty often, though you’d have to contextualise to SG since a lot are US-based.
One that I remember is to basically not mention “wedding” when asking the prices of services, cos that’ll automatically make everything much more expensive.
Otherwise, you can always have a small wedding at home instead - COVID doesn’t really allow for flamboyant ones anyway. And maybe just get a regular caterer, if you’re fine with that, rather than one that specialises in weddings.
