Any thoughts on using coworking spaces as an SME?

Would I benefit from the networking opportunities? I am currently working from home and the business operates on a two man team for now.

Some coworking spaces organise regular events like speaker sessions, startup demos, hackathons, venture capital investor nights, etc. Some of these coworking spaces even host their own accelerator programmes. These can certainly be useful for networking. One prime example of such a coworking space would be Found8.

However, if you're looking for networking, it might be best to invest your time and resources into networking events, rather than signing up for a coworking space with the goal to network. This will save you money on coworking rent.

If you're still interested in joining a coworking space, here's a list of the most affordable spaces:

Cheapest hot desk: Lionsworld Business Centre

Rate: $75/month

Address: 111 North Bridge Road, #21-01 Peninsula Plaza, Singapore 179098 (5 mins walk from City Hall MRT)

Cheapest fixed desk: The Work Shop (Ang Mo Kio location)

Rate: $300/month

Address: 5008 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5, #04-09 Techplace II, Singapore 569874 (8 bus stops from Ang Mo Kio MRT)

The next cheapest fixed desk, if you want a location in the CBD, is from Workcentral.

Rate: $500/month

Address: 190 Clemenceau Ave, #06-01 Singapore Shopping Centre, Singapore 239924 (5 mins walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT)

You can check out this complete guide to Singapore's 5 cheapest coworking spaces. The coworking spaces in this guide are generally 20-30% cheaper than competing coworking spaces, and are still well-equipped with sleek, modern designs. A number of these cheap coworking spaces in the guide are even located in the CBD too, so it pays to do some research beforehand!

Hey Christopher, absolutely!

Imagine an environment where ~50 startups or SMEs are hosted on the same floor, open door, open pantry concept with the host (the good ones at least) organising weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly networking and learning sessions/activities.

It's the perfect opportunity and environment for you to network as long as you're motivated to do so.

Sorry, no experience here (still a student) , but just curious - what sort of networking opportuniti...
