Have you tried going a bit earlier and picking cafes slightly outside the usual CBD/Tiong Bahru stretch?

I prefer to gatekeep tbose places so that their businesses remain sluggish, and I can enjoy my quiet peaceful time there to do my work lmao.

Places I recommended all become too crowded with time. Sad emoji

Typically, such places are near the boundary between the heartland and private property area. For example, brunches cafe at Rangoon Road, oddity cafe at Upper Serangoon Road, nickel cafe at Middle Road.
