Is AIA worth it to pay the extra for premiums? I am comparing GE's and AIA's IP+rider, Class A Ward. AIA's premium is 25% more, with roughly about the same coverage. I have an AIA agent that I trust, but the premiums cost is deterring me from signing the plan. I will save 6k (25%) from now to 65 if I go with GE.
Even whole life policies for 300k coverage, AIA cost is 4.5k, while China TP, Aviva is 3+k.
GE whole life sucks. 3.5k, but I don't get 300k after 70yo if I get CI, only 250+k.

The whole life policies are premiums per annum.

Hi anon,
To answer your query, when it comes to the topic of Hospitalization plans, what is cheapest now may not be the cheapest in future. H&S plan premiums are subject to review and historically have changed every year as insurers try to balance claims paid out vs premiums collected. Thus it doesn't mean that you will definitely save $6K in the long run by going with GE. What is important however is to ensure that you are covered.
On the topic of whole life, since those premiums are level, then it is true that all else equal, I have found CTP and Aviva plans to be extremely competitve in both premium and scope of coverage. So you might want to consider those two insurers. I am not sure what your parameters for the plans are (base Sum Assured, amount of Early/Late CI cover, premium term, etc, all should be similar for a fair comparison) but based on my experience getting my clients covered for CI, it's usually between CTP and Aviva and I would let the client choose whichever he/she prefers.
